ZTE had introduced two AXON 7 smartphones this year, the AXON 7 flagship, and its smaller, inferior counterpart, the AXON 7 Mini. Both of these smartphones are made out of metal, and are quite affordable, while the AXON 7 is especially interesting, as it manages to offer quite a bit in terms of build and specs, and cost only $399. In any case, ZTE has brought both of these devices to this year’s IFA, and the AXON 7 Mini was actually introduced during the tradeshow. Well, both of these phones have received a very flattering award during the tradeshow, read on.
The ZTE AXON 7 and AXON 7 Mini have won an award by IDG and German Industry and Commerce, the two devices have won the ‘Breakthrough in Smartphone Audio Innovation’ award in Berlin, which is one of 2016 IFA Product Technical Innovation Awards. “We are thrilled once again to receive the 2016 IFA Product Technical Innovation Award – this time for our AXON 7 series. Smartphone audio quality is one of the most important features according to our in-depth consumer market research and we deliberately distinguish the AXON 7 series with our superior sound quality unlike any others,” said Adam Zeng, CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices. Both of these phones feature two front-facing stereo speakers, and their sound output is quite impressive, as is sound input. Dolby Atmos 7.1 surround sound is featured in both of these devices, and active noise cancellation is also included here via a dedicated microphone.
The AXON 7 comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD AMOLED display, while its smaller counterpart features a 5.2-inch fullHD AMOLED panel. Both devices come with rear-facing fingerprint scanners, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. The 20-megapixel rear-facing camera is available on the AXON 7, while the AXON 7 Mini comes with a 16-megapixel shooter. The Snapdragon 820 fuels the AXON 7, while the AXON 7 Mini utilizes one of Qualcomm’s mid-range chips, the Snapdragon 617. The AXON 7, as already mentioned, costs $399 in the US, while the AXON 7 Mini comes with a €299 price tag in Europe. Prices are comparable in other regions, in case you were wondering.
