Catch Google's Oct. 4th Event Live Stream Here

Google’s official event starts later this morning in just a couple of hours, and as expected they’ll be live streaming the entire event so users who weren’t able to attend in person can see all of the things that are being unveiled this morning. This likely includes devices such as the Pixel and Pixel XL, which have long been suspected to receive an announcement this Fall, but it’s also rumored that Google will have plenty more to show off at the event today, including Google Home which was initially announced back during Google I/O in May, as well as some entirely new products that have never been mentioned before by Google themselves.

These new devices are suspected to be a new model of the Chromecast called the Chromecast Ultra, so named for it’s ability to support 4K content. While the design may not have changed all that much from last year’s model Chromecast if the leaked render is to be believed, the functionality has been bumped up a bit, as has the price, which is rumored to be $69 or basically double the cost of the standard Chromecast model. In addition to the two new phones and the new Chromecast as well as Google Home, it’s also expected that Google will announce a new Wi-Fi router today, called simply Google Wi-Fi, which is to be a mesh technology and offer a modular setup that allows consumers to incorporate a single base-unit of the device in their home to strengthen their Wi-Fi signal, and then add on more units as needed so they can fill up any weak spots.

Of course, rumors suggest that Google isn’t stopping there and that they have even more to announce this morning. Yesterday it was rumored that Google would also be announcing their very first Daydream VR headset today alongside the Pixel and Pixel XL, which are to be the first two phones that are compatible with Daydream VR. Google is also rumored to be unveiling a new Chromebook Pixel and potentially a new OS that they’re working on, and it’s been rumored that Google may have a new 7-inch tablet in the works as well that is to be manufactured by Huawei. Google’s event starts at 9 AM PST, so it won’t be long before everything is officially revealed.
