Google’s new smartphones are right around the corner, as the company had scheduled a press event for October 4th, which is today. The press event will kick off at 9AM PST, for those of you who are interested in watching the live stream. That being said, Google’s smartphones won’t carry the ‘Nexus’ name this time around, it seems like Google will re-brand their smartphone lineup, the upcoming two devices are going to be called the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, at least according to a ton of info that we’ve seen in the last couple of weeks. Now, thanks to Bell, Carphone Warehouse and Verizon, we have a ton of info when it comes to these two devices.
That being said, we know what specs to expect out of these two devices, what will they look like thanks to leaked renders, and now even pricing has surfaced, at least as far as Verizon is concerned. As you probably already know, both the Google Pixel and Pixel XL surfaced on Verizon quite recently, and one Redditor actually managed to grab the pricing for the Google Pixel before the listing was removed. Now, the 32GB Google Pixel was listed for $199,99, while the 128GB model was listed for $299.99 on Verizon. This listing is shown off down below, and even though the source was unable to grab the pricing for the Google Pixel XL, it is reported that the 32GB Pixel XL will cost $319.99 on Verizon, while the Google Pixel XL will be priced at $419.99. Based on this info, it is possible that the 32GB Google Pixel will cost $650 (unsubsidized), while the 32GB Pixel XL might be available for around $770. Do keep in mind this is not official info, but we’re pretty sure it’s at least somewhat accurate. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL are both expected to ship with 4GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoCs. These two phones will be made out of metal and glass, and will come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. The Google Pixel will sport a 5-inch fullHD AMOLED display, while you can expect to see a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED panel on the Google Pixel XL. The 12.3-megapixel snapper will be included on the back of these two phones, and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging will also be included here.
