[UPDATED]Google Pixel Up For Pre-Order Starting Today In 5 Countries

As you probably already know, Google has just introduced two new smartphones, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. These two handsets are direct successors to the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P devices that were introduced in September last year. The Google Pixel is a 5-inch smartphone, while the Pixel XL comes with a 5.5-inch display, which makes it the company’s new phablet. That being said, we’re here to talk more about the availability of the Google Pixel, the smaller of the two Pixel devices.

During the press conference, Google has announced that the Google Pixel will be available in three variants, the 32GB and 128GB models will be available for purchase. Google Pixel’s pricing starts at $649 in the US, while the device will be available through Verizon exclusively as far as carriers are concerned, at least in the US. As it’s usually the case, however, Google’s devices will be somewhat more expensive in other areas, and even though we still don’t know how much will the Google Pixel cost outside of the US, we do know that the device will be available for pre-order starting today in Australia, Canada, Germany and the UK. We’ll let you know as soon as we know more, stay tuned. Now, the Google Pixel will be available in Quite Black, Really Blue and Very Silver color variants, just in case you were wondering. These name choices by Google seem rather weird, but at least they’re fresh, it’s something you’re either going to love, or really hate.

The Google Pixel sports an industrial design, as you can see, the phone is not exactly flashy, but we’re used to seeing such devices from Google. This smartphone features on-screen buttons, and a fingerprint scanner on its back. The phone comes with a 5-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM and a 2,770mAh battery. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels this smartphone, and a 12.3-megapixel snapper can be found on its back. Andorid 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Google Pixel, which is the latest iteration of Google’s operating system which comes with the leaked Pixel Launcher. That’s pretty much it, stay tuned for more info.

UPDATE: 32GB and 128GB storage variants of the Google Pixel cost £599 and £699, respectively.
