Google’s new smartphones have just landed during the company’s press conference in San Francisco. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL have been leaking out for a long time now, and Google has finally announced them. The Google Pixel XL is the larger of the two smartphones, and a direct successor to the Nexus 6P. The two devices have similar internals, though not identical, of course. In any case, we’ve already talked about the Pixel XL in our official announcement of this smartphone, and have also posted its specifications. The Google Pixel XL comes with a larger battery than the Google Pixel, of course, this smartphone, unlike its siblings, packs in a 3,450mAh battery on the inside, which is not exactly surprising considering this phone ships with a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display, needless to say, that’s a lot of pixels. The phone’s battery is not removable, and the device utilizes fast charging, as it ships with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology out of the box. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor is in charge of fueling this smartphone, and in combination with this battery, it should provide you with enough usage time before the phone starts begging for a charge. That being said, this is only a guess on our part, as the phone has just been announced and we did not get a chance to test it just yet, but you can expect a full review in the near future, as we’ll get down to it as soon as possible.
Now, as far as the rest of this device’s specs are concerned, the phone comes with a 12.3-megapixel camera which is placed on its back, and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on this smartphone, and the fingerprint scanner is located on its back. This smartphone comes in three color variants, Quite Black, Really Blue and Very Silver. Much like previous Nexus devices, this smartphone is not trying to awe us with its design, as it sports that good old industrial look that some people love, and others hate.
