Google's Official Pricing For The Pixel XL Starts At $769

Today at their event Google has officially unveiled the Pixel XL, one half of their brand new smartphone lineup for the year, the other being the Pixel, which is essentially the same device but with a smaller screen. As the Pixel XL is delivering a similar experience with a larger display, it also comes with a larger price tag, but that was always to be expected. Last month prior to today’s announcement, the Google Pixel was rumored to start at a base cost of $649, and the Pixel XL was no doubt going to be set at a higher cost because of the larger display. That’s exactly the case as the Pixel comes in at a price of $649 for the base model, while the base model of the Pixel XL comes in at $769.

While Google will be offering the Pixel XL starting at $769, they will also offer one other storage size model of the phone at 128GB, which will be $869 if you need the larger amount of space. When it comes to the rest of the hardware, the Pixel XL will come equipped with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, and come powered by a 3,450mAh battery to keep it going throughout the day. Just like the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P from last year, Google has fitted the Pixel XL with a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The Pixel also has the same ports.

The Pixel XL will also come powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, paired with 4GB of RAM. The rear-facing camera is a 12.3MP sensor while the front-facing camera is an 8MP sensor for selfies and video chat. The Pixel XL (as well as the Pixel) comes with a 3.5mm audio port up top for plugging in headphones if consumers don’t want to connect a pair wirelessly, and there is a fingerprint sensor on the back for unlocking the device and authorizing mobile payments using Android Pay. The Pixel XL comes running on the latest version of Android which is Android 7.1 Nougat, and it will be available in three colors, which are Quite Black, Very Silver, and Really Blue.
