Xiaomi had introduced several new devices earlier today, including the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Mi MIX and Mi VR. The first two devices are the company’s new flagship phablets, and the Mi VR is the company’s virtual reality headset. Having that in mind, the Mi Note 2 has been one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2016, and is a direct successor to the Mi Note devices which were released back in January last year. That being said, the Mi Note 2 definitely did not disappoint, it packs in top of the line specs, while it is made out of metal and glass, not to mention that it sports a curved OLED display up front, and a 3D curved glass panel on the back.
We’ve covered the initial announcement of this device, and have talked about its specifications as well. Now, considering that one of our editors is currently in China, he managed to get his hands-on Xiaomi’s new products, and we’re here to take a look at the Mi Note 2. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll be able to see Xiaomi’s new flagship in the flesh. The phone does resemble the Galaxy S7 Edge from the front, mainly because of the curved display and the button below the display. In any case, the Mi Note 2’s home button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and this phone would be a direct competitor to the Galaxy Note 7, if… well, as you know, the Galaxy Note 7 is no longer available for purchase. The Mi Note 2, much like the Galaxy Note 7, features a 5.7-inch display, though its resolution is 1920 x 1080 (fullHD), and we’re also looking at an OLED panel here, but a different panel, of course.
Aside from its relatively big display, the Mi Note 2 also packs in 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of internal storage. This phablet is fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, and a 4,070mAh battery is also a part of this package. The 22.56-megapixel shooter is available on the back of the Mi Note 2, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found on its front side. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the device, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Xiaomi’s very own OS, MIUI 8. It’s also worth mentioning that the Mi Note 2 comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 tech, which is essentially a quick charging technology.
