With the Huawei Mate 9 announcement set to happen in the next couple of days, it won’t be long before the company showcases it’s followup to popular Mate 8. Of course, it shouldn’t be too shocking to learn that leaked images of the phone would surface prior to the official unveiling, as this tends to happen with every major smartphone or device launch. It happened numerous times with Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL that were officially announced back on October 4th, and there have already been a couple of leaks with images of what have been thought to be the Mate 9 prior to today. Now a new set of leaked images of the phone have surfaced which give the best detail yet on what this device offers in the design department.
As you can see from the images below, the Mate 9 doesn’t look drastically different from the Mate 8, but this isn’t a bad thing. Huawei does seem to have refined the design of the new phone though compared to its predecessor, and just as it was likely suspected Huawei has partnered up again with Leica for the camera on this device just as they did with the Huawei P8. Although these images do give consumers an idea of what the phone will look like, there has still been no confirmation on the actual specifications of the phone, although it has been rumored that Huawei is using the new Kirin 960 chipset.
Prior to these images showing up, yet another live image of the Mate 9 appears to have leaked just earlier this afternoon but it is less clear compared to those which are shown below. In regards to the other specs, it’s rumored that Huawei has used a Quad HD 5.9-inch display for the Mate 9, and that it will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage space. It’s also rumored to sport a dual camera setup with a 20MP and 12 MP sensor combo, and although the MP count isn’t verified with these images, you can see that Huawei has used a dual camera setup. The Mate 9 also appears to be coming with USB Type-C, as well as a 3.5mm audio port up top, and a fingerprint sensor on the back below the camera module.
