As most of you know, Lenovo is phasing out the ‘Motorola’ brand, as they’ve started releasing Motorola’s ‘Moto’ devices under the Lenovo brand. In any case, the company had unveiled a number of products this year, including the Moto Z and Moto Z Play smartphones. These two devices are already available in select regions, though not in India, well, at least they were not available until today, read on.
The company has just introduced the Moto Z and Moto Z Play smartphones (the Moto Z Force remains Verizon’s exclusive) in India. Now, in addition to these two smartphones, the company has also unveiled their Moto Mod accessories in India, as expected. These devices follow the lead of the Moto E3 Power and Moto G4 Play which were introduced earlier this year in India. In any case, the Moto Z is priced at Rs. 39.999 ($602) in India, while the Moto Z Play costs Rs. 24,999 ($376) in the country. Now, as far as Moto Mods are concerned, the company has announced the JBL SoundBoost Speaker (Rs. 6,999 / $105), Hasselblad True Zoom Camera (Rs. 19,999 / $301), Instashare Projector (Rs. 19,999 / $301) and the Incipio offGRID Power Pack (Rs. 5,999 ($90). Keep in mind that you can get Moto Mods for a cheaper price if you purchase them as part of a bundle. In addition to all this, it is also worth mentioning that the Wood, Ballistic Nylon and Leather Style Shells have also been announced, they cost Rs. 1,099 ($17) and Rs. 1,599 ($24), respectively. The Moto Z and Moto Z Play will be available exclusively from Amazon India and Flipkart, and both are set to launch on October 17th, same can be said for the aforementioned Moto Mods as well.
The Moto Z sports a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. This device is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, and sports a 13-megapixel camera on the back. The 2,600mAh battery is a part of this package as well, and comes with fast charging. This smartphone is made out of metal, and packs in a fingerprint scanner. The Moto Z Play, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch fullHD AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this phone, and a 3,510mAh battery comes included here, while fast charging is present here as well. The 16-megapixel camera is placed on the back of this phone, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on both the Moto Z and Moto Z Play.
