It was recently reported that the LG V20 would be making its way to Canada, but only at regional carriers, Wind Mobile, which covers Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta, and Videotron that includes Quebec. It doesn’t appear that the Big Three will initially be selling the device, but things can always change down the road. At the time there was no pricing available, but the pricing varies quite a bit between carriers. Both carriers are offering (for a limited time) a free set of Bang & Olufsen headphones (valued at $199), and that may help with the sting of the price of the LG V20.
The LG V20 is future-ready for Wind Mobile’s upcoming Wind LTE service so you will be able to use it now and down the road. It will cost you $999 outright with no contract. The cheapest you can get the LG V20 is for $349 with a $25 per month WINDtab Boost plan. With a $15 per month WINDtab Boost plan, you can get a V20 for $549, for a $5 WINDtab Boost plan, $749 and on a plan WINDtab, $899. Over at Videotron, the LG V20 will cost you $1,029.95 without any agreement. If you are on a monthly plan of $79.95 for 24 months, you can pick up the V20 for only $249.95. If you are on a $69.95 a month plan for 24 months, the LG V20 will cost you $389.95.
On the outside, LG used aircraft quality aluminum to house the device. The LG V20 has a unique secondary display over the top of the primary 5.7-inch display that operates when the main display is locked. You will receive your notifications, the date and time via this secondary display which is designed to give your battery, even more life between charges. The IPS QHD display will give you 513 pixels-per-inch (PPI) for a sharp display. The processor is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU for fantastic graphics. Inside you will find 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of the faster UFS 2.0 internal memory – which is expandable via a microSD card. The LG V20 uses a dual camera design (one 16-megapixel and one 8-megapixel wide-angle) with each camera able to operate independently of each other. For most pictures, you will use the 16-megapixel lens, but for those group family shots or scenic shots, you can use the 8-megapixel wide-angle lens to capture more in your photo. The LG V20 is the first mobile smartphone to have four DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters,) along with an EQ, and is B&O Play certified. It is also running Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box.
