The Meizu PRO 6s has been one of the most talked-about smartphones lately, at least as far as leaks and rumors are concerned. Meizu had introduced quite a few smartphones this year, including their flagship PRO 6 smartphone which was introduced back in April and fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X25 64-bit deca-core processor. Many consumers were expecting Meizu to introduce their rumored PRO 7 smartphone which was expected to sport a curved display and ship with Samsung’s Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core SoC. Meizu’s VP said a while back that the PRO 7 will be announced next year, which managed to disappoint quite a few people.
That being said, the Meizu PRO 6s rumors started not long after that, and we’ve seen tons of such rumors up to this point. Well, Meizu’s VP decided not only to reveal the design of the PRO 6s’ back side, but also to confirms that the device will be fueled by MediaTek’s SoC, which means that the Exynos 8890 is out of the picture, at least for now. Now, judging by Li Nan’s Weibo (Chinese social network) post, the Meizu PRO 6s will be almost identical to the PRO 6 in terms of the design, at least if we look at the back of this phone. The phone will be made out of metal, while and its main camera will protrude on the back, as it was on the PRO 6. It’s really hard to differentiate these two designs, it’s even possible the two phones will look identical, which suggests that the PRO 6s could either be a slightly more powerful handset than the PRO 6, or a mid-range variant of that phone. Well, judging by the rumors we’ve seen thus far, it’s possible that this phone will be inferior to the PRO 6. The Meizu PRO 6 was fueled by the Helio X25 64-bit deca-core SoC, which is still MediaTek’s most powerful chip, so Meizu really can’t include a more powerful processor in the PRO 6s.
Now, the latest leak mentioned that the PRO 6s will be fueled by the MT6796 64-bit deca-core SoC by MediaTek, which means we’re looking at a chip inferior to the Helio X25, at least based on its model number. The leak also mentioned that the phone will sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In any case, the company is expected to introduce this phone in the coming weeks, maybe even during their October 31st event. so stay tuned.
