Nokia was one of the largest tech companies in the world back in the day. This company was the leading cellphone manufacturer for years, but they failed to adapt to the smartphone era. Nokia was pushing their Symbian OS for way too long, and then switched over to MeeGo OS, which was also their home-baked operating system, but neither of those operating systems really took off. This company was making one mistake after the other, and the crucial mistake they made was getting in bed with Microsoft, as they have signed an agreement that they will manufacture Windows Phone-based smartphones only. Microsoft purchased Nokia’s Devices and Services business at one point, and that basically represented the end of Nokia as we knew it.
That being said, Microsoft has decided to sell Nokia to Foxconn a while back, and it seems like Nokia’s devices will be back on the table, and they will be fueled by Android, Foxconn will actually manufacture Nokia-branded phones. That being said, the Nokia D1C surfaced on Geekbench the other day, and now we have some info regarding the company’s upcoming and recently-leaked Nokia P1 handset. According to a new info that leaked in China, the Nokia P1 will be powered by Android, and it will also come with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. Now, according to the source, the phone will ship in both 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch variants, and both of those devices will sport QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED displays. In addition to all this, the Nokia P1 will be made out of metal, and will ship with Android 7.0. Nougat out of the box (with Nokia’s Z Launcher on top of it), while you can expect it to hit the market before the end of this year. On top of all this, the source claims that this phone will sport a really capable main shooter, though we don’t have any specifics yet.
That is more or less all the info that was leaked this time around, though based on these partial specs, we are led to believe that this will be the company’s new flagship, so it will probably going to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821 SoC, while you can expect to see at least 4GB of RAM included here as well.
