Nomu S20 Released with IP68 Rating, 3GB of RAM for $169

Chinese smartphone brand Nomu,  has released a new smartphone model named S20, which features water and dust protection, in addition to a rugged body. This smartphone manufacturer from China has sped up its development to the international market since its flagship product Nomu S30 received great reviews in the smartphone market. Judging by the phone’s design, S20 is just like the other siblings that Nomu series created to survive in the rugged environment with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistant over 1.5 meters at 30 minutes, which keeps you using the phone without many restrictions. It’s just a tad lower-end than the S10 and S30 models which are already on the market.

When it comes to specs, the Nomu S20 comes with a 5-inch 720p HD display, sporting a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Under the hood, this phone comes with the MediaTek MT6737 (that’s a 64-bit Quad-core 1.5GHz) processor, with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and it does also support a micro SD card for expandable storage for up to 32GB. On the software front, it runs Android 6.0, and it appears to be running a fairly stock or AOSP version of Android Marshmallow. Inside there is a 3000mAh non-removable battery, which should last you all day long, there is also quick charging so you can quickly top off the Nomu S20 when needed. It also features 4G LTE support, although support for your carrier’s 4G LTE will depend on the country you are in.

The Nomu S20 isn’t the most powerful phone in Nomu’s portfolio, as a budget device the S20 is good enough to run most gaming and other apps smoothly. Given that the phone has an IP68 rating and only starts at $169.99 USD, the Nomu S20 is likely to appeal to plenty of consumers in this very competitive market, especially those that are looking for a rather rugged smartphone to put in their pocket, and not need to worry about it getting a little wet, or encountering dust.
