OtterBox Announces New Cases For Google Pixel & Pixel XL

Less than two days ago, Google announced its latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel and Pixel XL. Both devices pack identical specs, save for the battery capacity, display size and the resolution. These devices pack the latest specs available in the market but if you would like to own one, it will not be cheap as prices start from $649 for the base version of the Pixel, while the base version of the Pixel XL is somewhere around $770. Being pretty pricey, you might want to keep your new Pixel device safe from scratches and knocks. This is where OtterBox comes in, as the company has now introduced its new lineup of cases for the Pixel and Pixel XL.

OtterBox was founded in 1998 and is widely known for producing durable cases for smartphones. OtterBox has two different series of cases to ensure your Pixel device will be able to handle a rough time. The two series are the Defender Series and the Commuter series, and both have their own uniqueness. According to OtterBox, the Defender Series will offer three layers of protection to your Pixel smartphone, as the case comes with a built-in screen protector to ensure the display is free from scratches. The case itself is built out of a tough interior shell to protect it from shock, and has an outer slipcover which will be able to block out any dirt or grime from getting into the interior of your device. The Commuter Series on the other hand, is the more slim case of the two. Just like the Defender Series, it will provide your Pixel with protection from drops as it has a hard exterior shell as well a shock-absorbing slipcovers.

Unfortunately, OtterBox isn’t offering its Symmetry Series for Pixel devices at the moment. As far as testing goes, OtterBox has stated that each case design has undergone 24 tests and over 238 testing hours. As for pricing and availability, the Defender Series is going for $49.95 for the Pixel and $59.95 for the Pixel XL. The Commuter Series is going for $39.95 for the Pixel and $49.95 for the Pixel XL. If you would like one for yourself, you can pre-order one from OtterBox’s official online store, or pick one up from a Verizon Wireless store.
