At first, it seemed like the Galaxy Note 7 will be a smashing success, the phone was introduced back in August, and it managed to awe quite a few people at launch. Many people consider this to be the company’s most beautiful smartphone to date, not to mention it offers premium specs, and an all-new S Pen stylus. Tons of people pre-ordered the Galaxy Note 7 when it launched, and everything seemed to be in order, until the units started shipping and also exploding. The company admitted that a number of units had issues with their batteries and tend to explode while charging, which resulted in a global recall of this phablet. The company said that they’ve fixed the problem, and have already exchanged tons of faulty Galaxy Note 7 units. So, that’s the end of it, right? Not really.
We’ve seen a couple of reports by now stating that the replaced Galaxy Note 7 units also have similar issues (as the defective ones), and several US carriers already halted sales of the Galaxy Note 7, including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. Samsung had announced recently that they’re investigating the issue, and according to the latest info, the company is halting the Galaxy Note 7 production. According to Yonhap, a South Korea-based news outlet, Samsung has temporarily suspended production of their Galaxy Note 7 phablet amid latest reports. According to Yonhap, Samsung has opted to temporarily halt production of the Galaxy Note 7 following cooperation with authorities in both China and the US. Samsung is yet to comment on this report, which we expect will happen soon enough. Needless to say, this is a serious situation for the company, the first recall was a huge hit for Samsung as the company had lost a lot of money, and quite frankly quite a number of consumers as well, and now the replaced units are also having issues it seems, which are really horrible news for Samsung.
As already mentioned, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon have stopped selling and exchanging the Galaxy Note 7 units, and an Australia-based carrier, Telstra, did the same. It remains to be seen what will happen next, as we’re expecting Samsung to go official and say what’s going on, so stay tuned.
