Rumor: Xiaomi Mi Note 2 To Sport LG's Curved OLED Display

Xiaomi had recently introduced two high-end handsets, the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. These are the company’s new flagship smartphone and phablet, respectively, but it seems like the Mi 5s Plus won’t be their flagship phablet for long, as the Mi Note 2 is right around the corner. The company had teased the arrival of the Mi Note 2 quite recently, and both rumors and leaks are constantly surfacing all over the internet. Now, if the rumors are to be believed, the Mi Note 2 will sport a curved display similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Vivo XPlay 5. Speaking of which, a new rumor has just surfaced, and it reveals more (alleged) info when it comes to the phone’s display, read on.

According to a new rumor that has just surfaced in China, the Mi Note 2 could sport a curved OLED display manufactured by LG. Now, a couple of weeks ago, we’ve seen a rumor saying that the Mi Note 2 will sport a curved display by either Samsung or LG, and it seems like LG is the company that will deliver such panels to Xiaomi. Now, we’re probably looking at LG’s new flexible OLED panels here, and the Mi Note 2 could be the first smartphone to ship with LG’s new display. That being said, it will be interesting to see if LG will be able to deliver enough of those panels to Xiaomi, we presume that such displays are not that easy to manufacture, not at all, especially on a large scale, and Xiaomi will probably sell quite a few Mi Note 2 units once the phone hits the market.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will, most probably, sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) curved AMOLED display, along with 6GB of RAM and will probably be available in several internal storage variants. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. Rumors are saying that we can expect to see two camera sensors on the back of the Mi Note 2, quite probably two 12-megapixel or 13-megapixel snappers. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will probably come pre-installed on the Mi Note 2, and on top of it, you’ll get Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS. This phablet is probably going to be made out of metal and glass, though we still can’t confirm that, as we’ve seen tons of conflicting leaks thus far.
