If you happened to miss the landing page for Samsung’s upcoming Chromebook Pro (which has also not officially been announced yet), then you’ll likely be happy to know that the site has been rebuilt unofficially by the team at Chrome Unboxed, who originally shared details about the site when it was initially discovered earlier this month. While much of the details of the Chromebook Pro were already discussed back on October 15th, it’s one thing to read about the details and another thing to see them outlined in images as if the product page were still up and running. With that said, you’ll be able to see the image that sort of rebuilds the landing page below in a full width style.
To recap, the Samsung Chromebook Pro will be a 12.9mm thick Chromebook that weighs 2.38 lbs. and comes with a Quad HD screen with a pixel density of 234 ppi which has an aspect ratio of 3:2, and can reach up to a max brightness level of 400 nits. Although it is probably quite obvious judging by the pictures that have been floating around for almost two weeks now, the Chromebook Pro will feature a completely metal body with a nice silver finish, and although it’s main functionality will be to use it as a Chromebook, it’s also designed as a convertible model that a 360-degree flip around display so it can be used in a tablet form factor.
To help enhance this capability, Samsung is packaging the Chromebook Pro with the PEN, a which is essentially a stylus and will be rather familiar to Galaxy Note users as it resembles the S Pen. Samsung boasts the comfort of typing on the Chromebook Pro keyboard as the the keycaps are rounded and were designed to match the contoured shape of fingertips, which according to Samsung will make the Chromebook Pro more enjoyable to type on. It will also come with Android app and Play Store support right out of the box and boast up to 10 hours of battery life so it can essentially be used all day on a single charge. Of course mileage with that may vary depending on what you’re doing with it. The Chromebook Pro will use USB Type-C for the charging and data transfer port, and security as well as regular updates will be automatic. There is still a few details missing it seems, like the actual size of the display, as well as an official launch date, availability, and pricing details.
