Devices running on Android 7.0 Nougat are still few and far between, but as the year continues on into the Fall season and next year approaches, more devices are due to come to market that are running on the new software. One such device which looks to be poised for a launch in the future is a new phone from SHARP, currently dubbed the FS8005, as a benchmark listing for the phone has just recently shown up at the GFXbench website. One thing that is worth noting is that the while this may be a new device with Android 7.0 Nougat on board, SHARP smartphones don’t really make it to the US or far outside their home market of Japan, so there’s no telling what regions may end up getting this device if it’s ever produced.
According to the benchmark table, which doesn’t list every nitty gritty detail in regards to specifications, does point out Android 7.0 software so it’s likely to at the very least have the latest software version available, save for Android 7.1 which is debuting on the Pixel and Pixel XL. Alongside Android 7.0 Nougat, the SHARP FS8005 also lists that it comes with a 5-inch display that carries a Full HD resolution. The benchmark does not however list the type of display panel being used, but then again these benchmarks never do.
The phone will come powered by an octa-core processor from Qualcomm, although it isn’t specified which one, but it does state that it will come paired with an Adreno 505 GPU, and that the processor is built on the ARM Cortex A53 – ARMv8 architecture, so it’s most likely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Chipset that is being used here. The benchmark also states that the phone will come with 2.8GB of RAM and 9GB of internal storage space, which are likely to be listed as 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The phone will allegedly come with a 12MP rear-facing camera and a 7MP front-facing camera, although the front camera is probably 8MP. There is no information about the battery, dimensions, or any other specs or features details. As this device potentially gets closer to announcement and release, more information about it will probably be made public.
