Sony Xperia XZ Is Now Available For Purchase In India

The Xperia XZ is Sony’s latest flagship handset. This device was originally introduced last month, and its availability has been confirmed in a number of regions thus far. This handset is made mostly out of metal, though there are some plastic parts here as well. The Xperia XZ is easily recognizable as Sony’s smartphone due to its design, and this handset does have plenty to offer. That being said, those of you who live in India and have been waiting to hear more about this device and its availability in the country, you’re in luck, read on.

As expected, Sony has just announced the availability of the Xperia XZ in India. This smartphone is available for purchase in the country starting today, you can purchase it through Amazon India for Rs. 49,990 ($785), while it is also available through retail stores all over the country. The Xperia XZ was available for pre-order for a while now, and those of you who pre-ordered Sony’s new flagship will also get a free Sony SWR30 SmartBand which is worth Rs. 8,990 ($135) on its own. The Sony Xperia XZ is not exactly a huge upgrade over the Sony Xperia X Performance which was introduced back in February this year during the Mobile World Congress (MWC), as both devices are fueled by the same SoC and come with the same amount of RAM, while the same camera sensor can also be found on these two devices, but it’s a new flagship offering nonetheless. That being said, we’re wrapping up our Xperia XZ review, and will publish it in the coming days, so stay tuned for that if you’re interested.

The Sony Xperia XZ features a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD Triluminos display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage (only the 64GB variant is available in India). Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels this smartphone, while you’ll find a 23-megapixel snapper on the back of this phone. The 2,900mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable. The Indian model of the Xperia XZ comes with two SIM card slots (hybrid SIM), and you also get a 13-megapixel front-facing shooter here. The Xperia XZ is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, which is always a good thing to have.
