Sprint Brings Unlimited Freedom Plans to Business Customers

When T-Mobile announced their new T-Mobile One plan, which makes them go all-in with unlimited data, Sprint then announced Unlimited Freedom, which essentially did the same thing but at a lower price. Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom plan gives customers unlimited data, but you are getting throttled video and music, as well as gaming. Basically, all of the tasks that use a lot of data are being throttled. A lot of people don’t see it as “truly unlimited data” but it is better than using your entire data limit and then being throttled completely for the remainder of the month, or worse, being charged overages. Now, Sprint is bringing Unlimited Freedom to business customers.

Announced today, Unlimited Freedom for Business allows business customers to get on the unlimited hype train. With Unlimited Freedom for Business, customers can sign up for $55/month for the first line, $35 for the second, and lines 3 through 10 are just $25. Additional lines past that initial 10 will cost you $35/month. Like the traditional Unlimited Freedom, customers will get “unlimited talk, text, with unlimited mobile optimized streaming videos, cloud streaming games and music and unlimited 4G LTE data for most everything else.” On top of that, customers get 5GB of 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot and for business customers you also get VPN and P2P access. Sprint’s press release states that it is available beginning Friday, October 7th, which was indeed last Friday and the company issued the press release today. We have reached out to them for comment and will update this post if needed.

This new plan for business customers makes it a great way for more people to get unlimited data. Sure it’s not truly unlimited data, and many things are being optimized, but looking at it from a network standpoint, this means that everyone can have unlimited data without needing to worry about the experience that other users are going to have when someone is streaming 4K video on their smartphone. It also allows them to use all their capacity – spectrum-wise – and keep costs down, and thus keep the price of this plan down as well. If you are a Sprint business user, you’ll likely want to check out this plan.
