Third-Gen Samsung Galaxy J3 Appears On Zauba

The ‘Samsung Galaxy J’ lineup is Samsung’s budget smartphone lineup and has proven to be quite popular in South East Asia. The first-generation of the lineup was first launched by Samsung back in 2015, and initially contained three models, the Samsung Galaxy J3, J5 and J7. Fast forward a year later, the second-generation of the series is currently in the market and the South Korean company has added models with highers specs such as the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. However, it seems like Samsung is gearing up to launch the third-generation of ‘Galaxy J’ smartphones as the Galaxy J3 2017 edition has made an appearance on Zauba.

Zauba happens to be a website which tracks information of India’s import and export of goods and it has listed the Galaxy J3 (2017) on its website. According to the listing, three units of the Galaxy J3 (2017) with the model number, SM-J327P has been shipped to the country. The place of origin happens to be Samsung’s home country of South Korea and according to the listing, the devices are being brought into India for testing purposes. Each device costs Rs. 6,843 which brings the total value of the shipment to Rs. 20,528. However, this price most likely won’t be the retail price once Samsung launches the Galaxy J3 (2016), and you could expect the price to hover around Rs. 8,999 once it is launched.

As for the specs, not much is known about the upcoming entry level device yet, save for the screen sizes, memory and optics. The Galaxy J3 (2017) is expected to come with 2 GB of RAM and for optics, an 8-megapixel camera on its rear and a 5-megapixel camera on its front. If Samsung releases the Galaxy J3 (2017) before the year ends, it would make the device the third Galaxy J3 to be released this year. The Galaxy J3 (2016) was released not too long ago back in March of this year and at the moment, most major carriers in the US are selling the device, unlocked. Also, Samsung released the Galaxy J3 Pro back in June and it happens to be a slight upgrade over the Galaxy J3 (2016). However, the device is being sold exclusively in China by China Telecom.
