Pokémon GO’s latest update is here and it’s brought with it some rather interesting new features, not the least of which is the daily rewards that were announced recently by Niantic as coming soon. Back on November 2nd, Niantic revealed that Daily Rewards would be a new feature introduced in an upcoming update, allowing players to score big on additional XP and stardust for every day that they play in succession. The update is now starting to head out to users, and if you’re a trainer who has continued toward their quest of becoming the very best, then this latest collection of improvements to the game will certainly help you achieve that goal. While the Daily Rewards is likely to be the biggest part of this most recent update, it isn’t the only change that Pokémon GO has seen recently, as Niantic also expanded the Nearby feature that was rolled out to a smaller number of players earlier this year. Moving back to today’s update, in addition to the daily rewards that are being added in, which includes bonus XP and Stardust for the first caught Pokémon and the first visited PokéStop each day, budding trainers will also notice that the prestige which is obtained for training at a friendly gym has been decreased to a lower amount, which should make things easier in this particular area.
Also following today’s update, defeating rival gym leaders will result in making you the only person who can put Pokémon in a that open gym slot for a short period of time. With this feature, it gives players an opportunity to take control of the gym for their team if they have a Pokémon they’d like to use. Of course, this will be most beneficial when other trainers are around at the same time the gym opens up. Lastly, it looks like rival gyms will lose more prestige now when they’ve been defeated.
