The HTC Bolt is a smartphone that has been leaking out for quite some time now. This handset was just announced by Sprint, and we’ve already covered its main announcement. This handset was just announced in the US, and it is a Sprint exclusive. The phone is made out of metal and glass, what makes the so-called ‘sculpted by light’ design, as HTC refers to it. The company has partnered up with the fastest man in the world in order to advertise this handset (at least based on some promo shots of the device), we’re talking about Usain Bolt, of course, and the connection is quite obvious. That being said, we’re here to take a closer look at the spec sheet of the HTC Bolt, read on.
The HTC Bolt features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 534 pixels per inch) LCD 3 display, with a (slightly) curved-edge Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top of it. This smartphone is IP57 certified for water and dust resistance, and it is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor running at 2.0GHz, which is Qualcomm’s flagship SoC for 2015, and it ships with the Adreno 430 GPU. This smartphone sports 3GB of RAM on the inside, and the company has also included 32GB of expandable internal storage here (expandable up to 2TB). The 16-megapixel OIS camera (PDAF, BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture) is placed on the back of this smartphone, and next to it you’ll notice the dual LED flash. This camera is capable of shooting 4K video and hi-res audio, while you also get the ability to shoot slow motion video at 720p / 120fps. On the front side of this smartphone, you’ll be able to find an 8-megapixel shooter (BSI sensor) which is capable of shooting videos in fullHD (1920 x 1080) resolution.
HTC’s BoomSound Adaptive Audio is also a part of this package, and the device is hi-res audio certified, which includes both audio playback and recording. The HTC 10 ships with three microphones for noise cancellation, while a 3,200mAh battery is also a part of this package. Speaking of which, the phone comes with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging tech, and you also get both a power saving mode, and an extreme power saving mode here, as part of HTC’s software. While we’re on the software front, it is worth mentioning that Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the HTC Bolt, and on top of it, you’ll get HTC’s Sense UI. The phone comes with support for 4G LTE, it supports Cat. 9 LTE with download speeds up to 450Mbps, and uploads up to 50Mbps. These are the supported 4G bands: FDD: Bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 25, 26 ; TDD: Band 41 with 3xCA. The HTC Bolt measures 153.59 x 77.3 x 3.7-8.09mm, while it weighs 174 grams.
