Huawei Mate 9 Lite Seemingly Hits The FCC; Images Leak

Huawei had introduced two smartphones quite recently, the Huawei Mate 9 and Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design. The former is the company’s new flagship phablet, and a direct successor to the Mate 8, while the latter one is their semi-luxury device which will be too expensive for most consumers as it costs €1,395. Anyhow, we have tons of coverage on both of these devices in case you’re interested in that, and are here to talk about yet another seemingly upcoming Huawei-branded smartphone, the Huawei Mate 9 Lite.

It seems like Huawei is getting ready to introduce the Huawei Mate 9 Lite as well, as the device has been certified by the FCC. This is actually quite interesting considering that the company never introduced the Huawei Mate 7 Lite or Huawei Mate 8 Lite, so this is a new trend they’re starting it seems. This new device comes with the BLL-L23 FCC ID according to the source, considering that we do not have a direct FCC link to share with you. This handset is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display, which means that it will be considerably smaller than the Huawei Mate 9 which sports a 5.9-inch panel, but will be comparable to the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design which also comes with a 5.5-inch display, though its display is curved, and we’re pretty sure that won’t be the case with the Huawei Mate 9 Lite.

The Huawei Mate 9 Lite will, just like its sibling, sport a dual camera setup on the back, though we’re still not sure whether it will come with the same camera sensors as the Huawei Mate 9 or not. You can also expect 3GB of RAM to be included in this device according to the source, and the Mate 9 Lite will be fueled by the Kirin-branded SoC, but we still don’t know which one, it probably won’t be the Kirin 960. You can expect to see two SIM card slots in the Huawei Mate 9 Lite, and the images of this device have leaked as well, as you can see in the gallery down below. The Huawei Mate 9 Lite will sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a single LED flash sensor will be placed on the back of the device.
