News about the upcoming Moto M (XT1663) has been leaked almost on a daily basis over the past week. The device is codenamed KUNGFU and is expected to be launched next week. While all of the previous leaks have combined to give us a really good idea of what to expect when the device is finally made official, the latest leak now gives us some more info about Motorola’s upcoming mid-ranger. With most of the info about the phone’s hardware is already in public domain, the latest leak relates to the phone’s software. The new images that can be seen in the gallery below, seem to show a number of productivity apps from Microsoft pre-installed on the device. The apps include Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype and Word.
As for the Moto M itself, a whole lot of information about it has already been leaked out from multiple sources. Just yesterday, tech journalist Steve Hemmerstoffer had posted a few images of the smartphone along with a summary spec-sheet. According to his tweet, the device will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display panel and will be powered by the MediaTek Helio P15. The chip comes with an integrated octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and is coupled with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The handset will also reportedly have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while imaging options will include a 13-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. The battery, according to Hemmerstoffer, will be a 3,050mAh unit, while Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to be pre-installed.
The latest reveal is at odds with some of the earlier reports. That’s because the phone was first rumored to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625. Another major difference between the earlier rumors and the latest leak lies on the battery front. Some of the earlier reports had suggested that the Moto M will come packing a massive 5,100mAh battery instead of the more humble 3,050mAh unit that’s now being suggested. Either way, the launch is only a few days away, so it shouldn’t be long before we get to see the official spec-sheet from Lenovo.
