LEGO Brickheadz For Daydream VR Now Available To Download

It seems fairly obvious to say that virtual reality (VR) is big business right now. Although, while it is certainly one of the biggest current talking points in the tech world, getting VR in the hands of more consumers has proved uniquely problematic. However, the industry did take a big step forward recently when Google officially released the first Daydream-ready headset, the Daydream View. While Daydream will offer a virtual reality-focused experience to more users going forward, at the moment, Daydream-compatibility is still fairly limited.

As are the number of apps that can be currently used with Daydream. While some Daydream-compatible apps were made available along with Daydream when the platform launched, it does stand to reason that the bulk of Daydream apps will become available as time goes on and once the platform becomes more developed and supported. Although just earlier today the HBO GO VR app for Daydream was noted showing up on the Google Play Store and now, it also seems there is a new LEGO-inspired game available for Daydream device owners as well.

LEGO Brickheadz is the new game which is now available to download via the Google Play Store. However, it is worth pointing out that this is listed as an ‘unreleased’ game, so you could and probably should expect the app to be a little buggy. That said, the general premise of the game is to design your own LEGO Brickheadz character and then play with your LEGO Brickheadz character and of course, all within the confines of VR. As well as creating your own character, the player will be able to engage with other characters in the game and progress through the game which in turn will unlock new characters and items. According to the Play Store listing, the app is free to download and does not include any IAPs. So there is little cost involved in giving the game a try. Although, as this is a Daydream app, you will need a Daydream View headset, as well as a Daydream-compatible smartphone – like the Google Pixel or the Pixel XL.
