The Mi MIX Nano Does Not Exist, According to Xiaomi

The Xiaomi Mi MIX is an interesting device for many reasons. First off, it is one of the latest devices from Xiaomi. Secondly, it is a fairly large smartphone as it comes packing a mighty 6.4-inch display. Thirdly, in spite of the display already being very large, the screen-to-body ratio is also fairly impressive, coming in at 91.3-percent. So for many people, the Mi MIX is likely to be an alluring smartphone. However, for others, it might not be so appealing for two clear reasons. Firstly, the price is fairly high and certainly high by Xiaomi standards and secondly, while many will appreciate the screen-to-body ration on offer, they might not appreciate the overall size of the device. For some, 6.4-inches is simply too big for a smartphone. Enter the Mi MIX Nano.

The Mi MIX Nano is currently an unconfirmed device. However, it is one which has been heavily rumored over the past few days, with a number of reported images coming through and said to be of the smartphone. The big selling point with this rumored device is that while it adopts Mi MIX design standards, it is a much smaller handset. One which comes with a 5.5-inch display, which would make it ideal for those who find the Mi MIX too much of a smartphone, but want the Mi MIX look and feel.

That said, it now seems as though the Mi MIX Nano will not be coming to market at all. That is because Xiaomi’s Marketing Director, Zang Zhiyuan, has reportedly dispelled claims that the Mi MIX Nano even exists. According to the comments from Zhiyuan, which were picked up on Weibo, “there’s no such product as Xiaomi Mi Mix Nano”. Instead, Zhiyuan suggests that the images and general rumors that are coming through are a result of another company who is hoping to capitalize on the success of the Mi MIX. As such, it does seem to be the case that the Mi MIX Nano is not actually en route or at least, not officially from Xiaomi. Which means if you are in the market for a new smartphone and like the look of the Mi MIX, then the normal-sized version with its 6.4-inch display is all you have to choose from. Of course, that is, providing these most recent comments are indeed true.
