Ski Tracks

Ski Tracks is essentially your ski companion, should you choose to go skiing in real life. It can record your daily skiing activity without being connected to the internet, and it is compatible with both Android Wear and Pebble’s OS. This app offers advanced mapping tools, and as you can see, the UI looks okay, though it’s not exactly based on Google’s Material Design guidelines.

Fis-ski mobile & live timing

This is FIS’s (International Ski Federation) official application for Android. This app contains tons of info about alpine skiing, ski jumping, nordic combined skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, speed skiing… and even grass skiing, believe it or not. All ski results and calendars for upcoming events are included in this app, and the UI of the application is easy to navigate.

bergfex/Ski Lite

bergfex/Ski Lite is an app which brings you info about ski resorts from the alps region. In case you’re planning on going to the alps region and need to know about ski resorts, this is an app for you, as it contains a ton of info about the resorts, while it also offers an up-to-date weather and snow reports for resorts in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, North Italy, France and Slovenia. The app is completely free to use.

OnTheSnow Ski & Snow Report

This is one of the best-designed applications on this list. The UI is quite easy to navigate, and OnTheSnow Ski & Snow Report app is kind of self-explanatory, as it brings you reports on the resorts of your choosing. You can access reports from over 2,000 mountains, and those reports include weather forecasts, live webcams, etc. In addition to that, you can find nearby ski areas via GPS.

Skiresort.info – ski app

Much like the OnTheSnow Ski & Snow Report, this application also gives you various info when it comes to ski resorts. There are 5,100 ski resorts and ski lifts included in this app, which essentially means that it has a larger database than the app we talked before it. This app will give you all the necessary info about slopes, lifts, ski pass prices and even opening times, while photos and videos are also included.

Ski: Europe

This application is quite useful if you plan on going skiing or snowboarding in Europe. The app will record tracks for you, will give you stats, provide route guidance, check snow and weather conditions for you, etc. This app also comes with 1,713 reports inside of it, all of which are located somewhere in Europe. The app is free to use, and even though it might not sport the most modern look, it’s quite useful.

Ski Map — OsmAnd

Ski Map – OsmAnd is essentially a navigation app, it allows you to see all the ski pistes and access all the available information about them. The design of this app is quite straightforward, the UI is nice and simple as it throws your right into map mode, as that is the main and only function of this app. That being said, people seem to be enjoying this application, so if you’re looking for a map guide for ski pistes, this might be just the app for you.

Ski Buddy

Ski Buddy is a ski tracker application, though it does not give you ski statistics at the end of the day like most apps, this app provides real time ski statistics and it can speak them to you via your earphones / headphones. The app will report speed, altitude, distance traveled, etc. The UI is kind of outdated, but you won’t be using it much either way, as the point of this app is usage while you’re skiing.

Snow Report Ski App

This application is actually quite similar to the OnTheSnow Ski & Snow Report we’ve talked about earlier, both in terms of functionality and general design. This app will give you access to live video feed for over 400 ski resorts, and over 500 detailed ski maps. You can find accommodations for your ski trips through this app, and weather forecasts is also included. There are a number of additional options inside of this app.

Learn how 2 ski – ski school

The name of this app kind of explains its purpose. If you want to learn how to ski, this application can help you with that, up to an extent. The application is based on ski instructions from Austria, instructions that ski instructors use when they’re teaching people how to ski. There are a ton of tips, tricks and videos available inside of this app, though there are a couple of bugs present in the app, so keep that in mind.
