Verizon Adds Two New Data Prepaid Plans, 5GB & 10GB

If you are a Verizon customer, or considering making the switch to Verizon, then it is worth knowing that in addition to its already-existing prepaid plans, the US carrier has now confirmed that they are adding two new plans to their prepaid options with a view to offering both existing and new customers a greater degree of choice. In spite of being announced though, the two new plans are not scheduled to become available until November 13.

If you are already a Verizon customer, then you will likely already be familiar with Verizon’s prepaid plans. The most affordable of which is currently the $30 per month plan. While this is the most affordable, this is one which is designed for those who primarily connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. So if you do need a plan with data, then this won’t be the one for you. Instead, you are more likely to opt for either the $45 or the $60 per month plans. Both offer unlimited talk and text with the main difference between the two, being the amount of data allowance you are entitled to. The more affordable $45 plan comes with 3GB data while the $60 plan doubles that data limit, at 6GB.

However, that is where these two new plans come in. At least, one of them as the most affordable of the two news plans is designed to neatly fit in between the $45 and $60 plans. On offer with this one is 5GB data and this will cost you $50 per month. So if you find the 3GB plan at $45 is not quite enough data or the 6GB plan is just that little bit too much data, then the 5GB plan will likely best suit you. Of course, if you are data-demanding then you might want to consider the other new plan that Verizon has now announced. This one costs $70 per month ($10 more than the 6GB plan) but comes with a much larger 10GB of data to use. It is also worth noting that Verizon has confirmed that the 5GB plan also comes with Carryover Data, Mobile Hotspot, Always-On Data and international messaging to over 200 countries. While the 10GB plan comes with all the same benefits as the 5GB plan, as well as unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada.
