Verizon Lists New Google Pixel 'Earth' & 'Trends' Live Cases

If you own the Google Pixel or the Pixel XL, then you might be considering picking up a new live case to go with your new smartphone. These are cases which Google sells via the Google Store and allow you to highly customize the look of your phone. As well as being able to choose from a number of pre-set designs, you can also use your own images to truly create your own live case for your Pixel phone. However, it also seems as though some new live cases might be on the horizon, as Verizon is currently listing two that do not show up on the Google Store and they seem to be quite interesting ones.

In terms of these new cases, they are currently being listed as the ‘Google Earth Live Case’ and the ‘Google Trends Live Case’. Both cases are showing up for both the Pixel and the Pixel XL and the names of the two cases are a little telling, as further down in the description, the two cases are listed to ‘let you explore the best of Google Earth’ (Earth Live Case) and ‘provides information on the day’s top trending Google searches’ (Trends Live Case). Which would suggest that these cases may be a bit more interactive than the normal live cases. Although, it is worth noting that the images shown of the cases are not giving much away. In fact, while it just might be a placeholder, the Google Earth Live Case does show imagery which is similar to one of the Android stock wallpapers that you would have encountered on the Nexus devices running Android 7.0 (Nougat), as well as a ‘Brown’ option. While the Trends case gives nothing away about extra functionality either and barely shows anything other than the two color options it will be available in – Gray and Sunset Orange.

At the moment though, when they are coming remains to be seen. The Verizon listings do not specifically indicate when either of the cases will be available to buy. Likewise, the listings do not provide any further information on the likely pricing of either case. It is also worth pointing out that as these cases are currently being listed on the Verizon site and not the Google Store, there are no firm details on when or even if, they will be available to buy through the Google Store. Which could mean that they are only going to be made available as Verizon-exclusive cases – to go along with the Verizon carrier-selling-exclusivity on the Pixel and Pixel XL in general.
