E-Sports has grown from a small cult following to a massively popular industry, and that shouldn’t be too hard to understand given the sometimes larger than life prizes that are being rewarded to the winners of major tournaments. While much of the biggest E-Sports events currently revolves around games like League of Legends, Dota 2, and others, they’re by no means the only games hosting events or tournaments. In fact, YouTube Gaming has announced that they will be hosting a live E-Sports event for Supercell’s hit game Clash Royale, called The King’s Cup Tournament, which will be streamed Live on YouTube Gaming on November 6th which is this coming Sunday. The tournament will be held in Los Angeles, and there is a fairly large prize pool to be had for whoever can walk away with the title of champion.
This is a first of its kind event, and YouTube Gaming is the place to be if you’re a fan of the game. If news of the tournament excites you and you’ll be planning on watching the tournament unfold, you might be happy to know that this is also an open event which anyone can attend. What’s more, is that by attending (if you fancy yourself good enough to compete) you can try your hand at moving up the ranks. To attend and compete you’ll need to pre-register, which costs $10, and those that do so will also receive a $20 Google Play gift card with which to spend on anything they like.
Those that do enter the tournament will be battling it out for a chance at the prizes and a chance to compete against eight of the top Clash Royale creators that can be found on YouTube, which includes Alvaro845, ClashWithAsh, Chief Pat, Ddotty, GamingWithMolt, Godson, Nickatnyte, and Orange Juice. For the non-contenders who simply enjoy playing Clash Royale for fun, there will also be an in-game event happening alongside the King’s Cup Tournament which starts a couple of days earlier, beginning tomorrow, November 4th. The King’s Cup Challenge special event which will allow users to play with cards they haven’t unlocked yet. While players likely won’t get to keep these cards in their inventory after the event is over, it should give them an idea of how each card works and allow them to formulate strategies and methods of how best to use these cards, which is pretty useful. The tournament will take place on Sunday beginning at 8AM PST, and will go until 8PM PST the same day.
