Like most companies, Amazon has an app that you can use on your Android smartphone. In fact, Amazon has quite a few different apps that you can use on your smartphone. So whether you are looking to do a spot of shopping, read an ebook, control an Alexa-powered device or your Fire TV device, find a restaurant, or a number of other things, Amazon has an Android app to help you do it. In fact, Amazon has a new Android app available now and one which looks to better keep you informed about some of the products that you are buying from Amazon. The new app is entitled ‘Transparency’ and in an age where being transparent matters more than even, Transparency looks to reassure Amazon product buyers about purchased products and especially once that might be perishable. As such, users can expect the app to provide details on a product’s ‘best by’ date, as well as details on its manufacturing date and location.
The app is available to download from the Google Play Store now and is a free to download app. However, using the app will not really be doable at the moment and certainly not before you next purchase something from Amazon. The way the app works is that once your parcel arrives, if it is one of the products which supports Transparency, then the package should come with a Transparency label attached. At which point, you can then scan the unique code on the label using the Transparency app and voila, all of the information available about that particular product will be accessible in the app.
Of course, this is probably not going to be an app for everyone and at the moment, is certainly limited in the number of products it supports (compared to the number of products that are available through Amazon). However, if you are someone who does order frequently from Amazon and would like to know more about the products that you buy (and where they come from), then this probably will be a welcomed addition to your app drawer.
