The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are now getting Android 7.0 Nougat in India. Following a couple of soak tests in the last couple of months, Android 7.0 Nougat has finally started hitting the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus devices in the second largest smartphone market in the world. As part of this update, these two budget smartphones are getting a ton of new features, as expected. This update has the same build number as the latest soak test, in other words, your build number will be NPJ25.93-11 after you update either of these two phones to Android 7.0 Nougat.
As part of this update, you’ll get a number of Android 7.0 Nougat features, let’s talk about some of them, shall we. The Multi-Window View is included here, which means you’ll be able to run two apps on your display and use them at the same time. The ‘Quick Switch’ feature lets you switch between apps quickly by tapping the overview button twice (last app you used will be opened), and both Work Mode and Data Saver modes are a part of this update. Bundled notifications are also included here, and the same goes for the ‘Doze On The Go’ feature, which means Doze will activate even if your phone is not lying flat on the table. JIT Compiler should help with performance, and the ‘Direct Reply’ feature is also a part of this update, and will allow you to quickly reply to messages from the notification shade, for apps that allow you to do so, of course. This update brings a ton more Android 7.0 Nougat features, all of which you can check out by visiting the source link down below.
Now, in addition to Android 7.0 Nougat features, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are also getting some Moto features as well. The most notable addition that comes with this update is the new Moto action which will let you swipe the display in order to shrink the screen. The Moto G4 Plus is also getting a new setting which lets you disable and enable locking the screen when the display is on by touching the fingerprint scanner. This new setting is located in the ‘Security’ part of settings, in case you are wondering. This update is 733MB big, and you can update both the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus OTA (Over The Air) as we speak in India, if the update is not available at this very moment, it will be soon.
