LG is still one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world, despite the fact their sales haven’t exactly been great lately. The LG G5 flagship haven’t been selling that well this year, and it will be interesting to see what will the LG G6 have to offer. The announcement of LG’s new flagship is still a couple of months away, but the phone will be introduced in the first half of next year. While we’re waiting for that to happen, LG has announced their new tablet offering, the LG G Pad III 10.1 LTE which actually leaked a couple of hours ago, read on.
The LG G Pad III 10.1 LTE is, as its name says, a tablet which sports a 10.1-inch display. This display comes with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, and do keep in mind that this is not a high-end offering by LG, but rather a mid-range tablet. The device is fueled by an unnamed octa-core processor which runs at 1.5GHz, and the device comes with a 6,000mAh battery. This tablet also ships with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage, you can expand its storage up to 2TB via a microSD card. On the back of the LG G Pad III 10.1 LTE you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel camera, while a 5-megapixel snapper is placed on the front side of this tablet as well. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the device, and on top of it, you’re getting LG’s custom UI for Android, which is called ‘Time Square UX’. This is a 4G LTE device, and the Type-C USB port is placed on the bottom of it. The device measures 256.2 x 167.9 x 6.7-7.9mm, while it weighs 510 grams.
The LG G Pad III 10.1 LTE has a built-in kickstand which you can adjust up to 70-degrees in 4 modes, and is the first LG-branded tablet in the ‘G Pad’ series to have such functionality. Thanks to the software that comes with this device, you can use this tablet as a desk clock, tabletop calendar or it can act as a digital frame. On top of all this, the tablet comes with Microsoft Office pre-installed. The LG G Pad III 10.1 LTE comes in black color only it seems, and it costs 429,000 Won ($360) in South Korea. The tablet goes on sale today in Korea, and the company said that they’ll expand the LG G Pad III lineup by releasing a 10.1-inch tablet with a stylus early next year, which could indicate we’ll see such a device make an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next month.
