With so much enthusiasm all around for Nokia’s expected re-entry into the smartphone business, we have already seen many a rumor surrounding the company’s first-ever true Android handset. For long rumored as the Nokia C1, the device continues to remain a bit of a mystery, with different rumors claiming different specs for the device. General consensus, though, suggests that the company is likely to introduce a flagship device with premium hardware at some stage. A designer has now released a few concept renders of the Nokia C1, and it looks pretty impressive. The renders, which appear on Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo, show off the device in a shade of burgundy and depicts a dual-camera set up at the back.
The power buttons and the volume rockers are on one side, whereas the USB Type-C port is on the bottom along with something that’s seemingly going the way of the dodo – a 3.5mm audio port. The key hardware specs also sound pretty interesting, with the device said to be powered by the Snapdragon 830 SoC, which is expected to power many a flagship smartphone next year. The device is also said to come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants, although the RAM will be restricted to just the 4GB in all of them. The battery on the concept Nokia C1 will be a 3,210mAh unit, while the dual rear cameras will come with 12 and 16-megapixel sensors, accompanied by a triple-LED Xenon flash that could very well come in handy during low-light conditions.
On the software side of things, the phone should rock Android 7.1.1, which sounds pretty impressive as well, although most Android users are still praying for their manufacturers and carriers to roll out Android 7.0 to their respective smartphones and tablets. Either way, now that we’ve seen the renders and gone through the spec-sheet of the rumored Nokia C1, it is important to remember that this is just a concept phone we’re dealing with, so the images and the specs are all just the result of somebody’s imagination. It will be interesting to see, though, how closely the real Nokia flagship resembles this device once Nokia and HMD decide to make it official in the coming weeks.
