The LG G6 is definitely one of the most anticipated flagships of 2017, and we’ve seen a number of LG G6 rumors / leaks thus far, including the rumor we’ll talk about today. A new LG G6 rumor just surfaced, and if this info is to be believed, the LG G6 might actually surprise us when it comes to its design. The source claims that the LG G6 will sport a glass back, and something called a ‘2.5D’ display up front. Now, do keep in mind this is not a 2.5D curved glass on top of a display, but a 2.5D display, which is the first time we’re hearing about something like this.
The 2.5D display isn’t something earth-shattering though, nor confusing, this is only LG’s name for a bezel-less panel. If the rumor is true, the LG G6 will sport no bezel on the sides, and this display is also slightly curved on the sides, which is probably why LG used the ‘2.5D’ naming here. The source does not mention the phone’s top and bottom bezels, but we’re guessing the device will sport some bezels both on the top and bottom. Now, in addition to all this, the LG G6 is rumored to sport wireless charging and also water resistance, which was to be expected, mainly because competing flagships have both of these features, well, at least the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge do. The LG G6 will sport a 5.3-inch display, which means it will be identical to the one LG used when they designed the LG G5, but considering the fact that the LG G6 will sport no bezels on the sides, this probably means that the device will be noticeably smaller than the LG G5.
Now, it is worth mentioning that the alleged LG G6 surfaced quite recently, and that phone actually resembles both the LG G5 and LG V20, but does not exactly fit the info we’ve received today. So, we basically still don’t what to believe at the moment, but considering the fact that the phone is rumored to launch before the Galaxy S8, we could see it hit the market in Q1 2017, while its predecessor arrived in April this year.
