Another render depicting the Samsung Galaxy S8 just leaked online as PriceRaja Blog obtained the image above from an unnamed industry insider. The render shows the front of what’s alleged to be Samsung’s upcoming flagship, though it’s unclear whether it depicts the Galaxy S8 or the rumored Galaxy S8 Plus. Nonetheless, the image seemingly corroborates several previously leaked renders and rumors related to the Galaxy S8 as the pictured device features an almost bezel-less design and doesn’t sport a physical home button. Samsung’s logo that traditionally occupied the top bezel of the company’s Android flagships was now moved to the bottom bezel while the top one only sports a variety of sensors, including a selfie camera and an iris scanner previously seen in the discontinued Galaxy Note 7.
The top and bottom bezel of the device look significantly slimmer to those featured by the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, which gives more credibility to previous reports that the Galaxy S8 will boast a larger screen than its predecessors without having significantly larger dimensions. The removal of the home button either suggests Samsung will opt for a rear fingerprint scanner or integrate one into the display of its upcoming device seeing how the technology for doing so already exists. Unlike many of the previous renders designed as visual representations of all the rumors surrounding the Galaxy S8, the one above is said to be a legitimate depiction of the final product.
Samsung’s upcoming Android flagship is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and the Exynos 8895 in select territories and ship with between 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy S8 is also rumored to sport Bixby, Samsung’s upcoming digital assistant powered by machine learning and other artificial intelligence technologies. Some recently leaked renders suggest that the Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.7-inch display while the Galaxy S8 Plus will ship with a 6.2-inch screen. Samsung traditionally announces its pair of Galaxy flagships at the Barcelona-based trade show MWC in late February, but recent rumors suggest the company may skip this year’s event and organize a special Galaxy S8 unveil in mid-April.
