Brookstone has today announced an updated model of its Big Blue Party and Big Blue Studio wireless speakers. The big selling point with the new models is that these ones come equipped with Chromecast built-in. Allowing owners to sync the speakers with their smartphone and make use of various streaming services, including Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora, or any other app which comes with a ‘Cast’ button. In addition to announcing the launch of the two new models, Brookstone has also confirmed that both the Big Blue Party and Big Blue Studio wireless speakers are available to buy starting from today online or through Brookstone stores. In terms of the price, the Big Blue Studio speaker costs $129.99, while the Big Blue Party speaker is available to buy for $249.99.
In terms of the difference, while both of the speakers can be used inside, the Big Blue Party speaker has also been designed for outdoor use as well and therefore does come with some additional build qualities, like a water-resistant shell. Although there are some more fundamental differences too. For instance, the Big Blue Studio speaker comes packing a total output of 16-watts which is further broken down as two 3-watt sides and a 10-watt subwoofer. In contrast, the Big Blue Party speaker is far more powerful and comes boasting a total output of 72-watts – comprising of 18-watts per side and a 36-watt subwoofer. The Big Blue Studio speaker provides a frequency response of 80Hz – 20kHz and makes use of 2 full-range drivers and 2 dome tweeters. While the Big Blue Party speaker drops to a lower frequency thanks to a frequency response of 40Hz – 20kHz.
In addition to Chromecast built-in functionality, the two new Big Blue speakers also come equipped with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, offering consumers two ways to wirelessly connect to either speaker, with each offering specific benefits.
