While there was not exactly a ton of Chromebooks announced at CES 2017, the ones that were announced are looking to be the leading Chromebooks in 2017. One of those which was announced and will likely be an extremely popular option came from ASUS in the form of the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302. This is a new version of the popular Chromebook Flip and one which has been upgraded in a number of ways and most notably, in its design. This is not only a premium Chromebook inside, but is also premium one on the outside as well.
The Chromebook Flip C302 is a stylish Chromebook and following in the footsteps of the previous model, the Chromebook Flip C302 is able to be used in a variety of positions including a tablet position, a tented position, and more. Which means that thanks to its 360-degree hinge, this is one of the few Chromebooks that is seriously flexible. Metal accents protect the Chromebook to ensure it can endure day-to-day usage, while the silver lid, backlit keyboard, large touchpad and touchscreen all help to add to the overall look.
Moving past the design and you are getting a seriously good Chromebook here. This is one which has been designed to be future-proof and as such, does come equipped with small benefits like USB Type-C connectivity. The battery included is one that is rated to offer up to ten hours of playback in between charges. So there should be no issues for anyone who intends to use this as an all-day Chromebook. And that is before we even touch on the fact that this is an Android app and Google Play Store-ready Chromebook.
In terms of the specs, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 comes equipped with a 12.5-inch FHD display. Beneath the surface, you will find 4GB RAM, 32GB storage and an Intel Core m3 powering the system. As mentioned, this is a Chromebook that comes equipped with two USB Type-C ports, along with a 3.5 mm audio port, a microSD card reader and more. The Chromebook Flip C302 measures 30.44 cm by 21 cm by 1.37 cm and weighs in at under 1.2 kg.
So all in all, the Chromebook Flip C302 is one of the Chromebooks which will be looking to make a serious mark on the Chromebook landscape going forward. It is lightweight, yet premium, yet durable. A combination which you are not often going to find on one device within the Chromebook market. However, you are paying for that combination as the Chromebook Flip C302 is not a super cheap device and certainly not by Chromebook standards. This one will cost you $499.99 to buy and that is for the baseline version. Which you can take a closer look at below.
