LG has unveiled a Chromecast-enabled sound bar today at CES alongside a range of other audio products including two more sound bars and a couple of new speaker systems. The LG SJ8 as it’s called, comes with Chromecast support built into the audio device making it simple and easy to stream whatever audio you wish right to it, allowing you to enjoy your music with high-quality sound without having to turn on the TV to stream that the sound bar is connected to to stream the content.
The SJ8 supports 4K sound and 4K Pass-Through in addition to the Chromecast support, and although it can be connected to really any TV, LG has designed it to work seamlessly with their new range of TV models to be released this year, and it even comes with what LG is calling the “TV Perfect Fit Kit,” which allows you to replace the stand on the range of new TVs with the sound bar itself so it has a seamless look and design to appear as one cohesive unit. While the SJ8 looks to be the only new Chromecast supported audio product of the bunch, it certainly isn’t the only audio product in general that LG has to show off. There’s also the SJ9 sound bar which features Dolby Atmos technology built in, and it’s also capable of taking standard audio files and converting the sound into 24bit audio files for a better quality listening experience. The last sound bar is called the SJ7, and packs 320W of power into a split design. The SJ7 can also be laid flat like the other two sound bars, or if you prefer each piece can stand upright, with a wireless connection between the two to ensure that audio is synced.
Sound bars aside, LG also has two new speaker systems to show off called the LOUDR CJ98 and the LOUDR OJ98. The CJ98 features 3,500W of power and comes with specific controls and functions aimed at sharing the audio experience with others in the room, as well as looping buttons and a “karaoke Star” feature. The OJ98 is the other all-in-one system which comes with its own set of unique features, like a Sparkle Lighting feature that pulses to the beat of the music. LG has also integrated a Part Kickstart feature that emulates the sound of a revving engine at the start of a race, making it clear that each speaker system is aimed more squarely at those who want a setup that can satisfy their parties with guests.
