Today at CES 2017, Sennheiser announced and introduced the latest addition to its popular HD line of headphones, in the form of the Sennheiser HD1 In-Ear Wireless headphones. While the new headphones have been announced, Sennheiser has yet to provide exact availability dates or any detailed information on the likely cost.
However, Sennheiser has provided a good deal of information on what can be expected from their latest pair of wireless headphones, including the fact that they are designed to provide the listener with a premium audio experience. This is best summed up by their inclusion of support for Qualcomm’s aptX technology, as well as AAC codec support. These are of course wireless headphones and connections are made possible using Bluetooth 4.1. Although a much quicker level of connecting is on offer due to the headphone’s employment of NFC one-touch. Added to the level of functionality and connectivity, the Sennheiser’s HD1 headphones also come with the ability to connect to two devices at the same time. While Sennheiser notes that the HD1 headphones come equipped with a battery which will be able to last up to 10 hours before needing to be recharged again.
In terms of their design, these are headphones that are crafted with ‘premium’ in mind and as a result, make use of stainless steel and a mirrored chrome finish. While also being designed to be durable, thanks to the use of impact-resistant polycarbonate. Although, unlike the majority of typical headphones that are currently available, the design of the HD1 also includes a neckband. One which Sennheiser states will enhance the listening experience and in particular, on mobile devices. The neckband is also where you will find the three-button remote panel, as well as the built-in microphone for hands-free calls. While the actual earbuds make use of an ear-canal design for a tighter fit and a more prominent sound. While Sennheiser has yet to provide detailed information on the availability and pricing of the HD1 In-Ear Wireless headphones, it should be expected that the information will come through soon, as Sennhesier does note that the HD1 wireless headphones will be available to buy at some point in January.
