Leak: This is a Prototype of the LG G6

The LG G6 may have just leaked out, at least a prototype of the device. LG is said to be announcing the new device at Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona, and while we’ve seen a few renders of the device, we have yet to see a real world image of the device, until now. Thanks to Droid Life, the pictures below appear to be prototype images of the LG G6. Now looking at the photos below, it does appear to line up with a number of the renders that have already leaked, but there are a few new things to talk about here.

It appears that the company is sticking with the same setup on the back. Having a dual-camera setup along with a power button/fingerprint sensor below it. The backside is otherwise pretty empty. Of course, this is a prototype and not a final version of the device, so that it is not going to have logos, FCC information and such. We also see that there is a USB-C port on the bottom of the device, with a speaker on the right side and a microphone on the left side. The front looks pretty plain, but we can see the front-facing camera on the left side of the earpiece. With the display being off, it’s hard to tell how small or large the bezels actually are.

There’s plenty known about the LG G6 already, but there’s also plenty that is still unknown. It is rumored that it’ll sport a 5.7-inch QHD+ display, and be powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor – due to the fact that Samsung called dibs on the Snapdragon 835 for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. The LG G6 does appear to be getting away from the modularity that LG did with the G5 last year. Currently it’s hard to tell from these photos, but LG may also be dropping the removable battery feature from the LG G6. Something that LG has been keeping in the past few iterations of their flagships, even with competitors making their batteries non-removable. All will be revealed on February 26th when LG takes the wraps off in Barcelona.
