Leaked case images reveal the possible Moto G5 Plus design, and judging by the pictures the style of the device looks very close in comparison to previous leaks which have shown off the phone in quite a bit of detail, the difference being that these are renders for the case while previous leaks were of what can only be assumed were prototypes of the phone in the wild. That being said, it seems that every aspect of the design in the leaked prototype is present in the leaked images for the Moto G5 Plus cases, right down to the larger camera sensor on the back that mimics the one used on the Moto Z, as well as the front fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the device with a slightly larger size than what can be found on the currently available Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.
This new fingerprint sensor also has a round shape instead of square, another trait which can be seen in the previous leak of the prototype, as well as a leak of a render of the device in silver that showed up just a few days after the prototype images. While there is absolutely no branding to speak of on the device in these case renders, it is mentioned that they appear to be based on “preliminary renders” that were given to the case maker by Lenovo and the Moto team, suggesting that the design has come straight from Lenovo, which, would probably make these designs the final design of the Moto G5 Plus if they have.
The case renders don’t give anything away when it comes to the ports such as the charging port or a 3.5mm audio port, but this is already something which has leaked before and based on that leak the device will come with a microUSB charging port and a 3.5mm audio port on the bottom, which would mean that the device hasn’t been outfitted with USB Type-C, but it will allow users to plug in a set of headphones if they care for a wired pair instead of using something that relies on Bluetooth for a connection. Lenovo and the Moto team have already teased a device announcement for Mobile World Congress, so it’s quite likely that they’re preparing to show off the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus there, although nothing is official until they actually unveil the phones.
