The Moto G5 has reportedly passed through the FCC after the Moto G5 Plus has recently leaked in a couple of different capacities. With the phone passing through the FCC this is one more piece of information which may suggest that Lenovo is gearing up to show the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus off at Mobile World Congress next month, although this has been mostly suspected since Lenovo sent out official press invites about their event during Mobile World Congress that seemed to suggest the phones would be unveiled.
While the FCC documents don’t reveal every single detail there is to know about the Moto G5, they do list a few pieces of information that showcase some of the features that can be expected of the phone. This includes NFC functionality which will allow the device to support Android Pay, as well as Bluetooth 4.2 LE, and the document also lists that the phone supports LTE bands 5 and 7, alongside support for Wi-Fi. The device could also be coming with a DTV dongle to be used as a TV tuner which is something that you don’t see in a lot of handsets.
Now while this document can be found at the FCC website and the document does list that this is a mobile cellular phone from Motorola Mobility, there is nothing that actually lists that the phone is called the Moto G5 that we could find, and only refers to the phone with the model name 9839. That being said, there is no way to verify that this is the Moto G5, but it would fall nicely in line with the time frame of the suspected announcement for the phone which should be coming up at the end of next month. In addition to the small bit of details from these documents, its also said that the Moto G5 will come with a 3,000mAh battery that supports Turbo Charging so users will be able to power up their devices rather quickly just like with the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. Today’s discovery of the FCC documents for the Moto G5, or rather rumored to be the Moto G5, follow a recent leak from yesterday of what is said to be the Moto G5 Plus case, as well as a recent leak that shows CPU-Z running on the Moto G5 Plus.
