Nougat-Based Xiaomi Smartphone Surfaces On GFXBench

A new Xiaomi-branded smartphone has just surfaced on GFXBench, and it comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. If you take a look at the provided listing which is embedded down below, you’ll get to see a listing of an unknown Xiaomi-branded smartphone. Some sources are suggesting that this is the Redmi Note 3 which was released last year, and that the listing is indicating that the phone is about to get Android Nougat update soon, but the specs are all wrong. This listing shows off a phone with a 5.7-inch display, while the Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch panel, not to mention that the phone’s clock speed is off on this listing as well, which leads us to believe this is a new phone.

In any case, the device that popped up on GFXBench sports a 5.7-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The SoC info in this listing is accurate if this is the Redmi Note 3, well, aside from its clock speed. GFXBench also mentions the Adreno 510 GPU, and if that info is to be believed, then this smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 650 SoC, which is Xiaomi Redmi Note 3’s SoC. This smartphone also features a 16-megapixel snapper on its back, while a 5-megapixel camera is placed on its front side. Android 7.1.1 Nougat runs on this device if GFXBench is to be believed, and on top of it, you’ll get Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS, as you probably already know.

So, is this the Redmi Note 3 or a new smartphone Xiaomi is getting ready to release? Well, we cannot say for sure, as the specs are definitely not accurate, they’re contradicting in any case. This could be the Redmi Note 3 with a wrongly listed spec sheet, while it could also be a completely new smartphone which is about to get released, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. The Redmi Note 3 is expected to get Android Nougat in the coming weeks though, and same goes for a number of other Xiaomi-branded smartphones, so it’s more likely this is the Redmi Note 3 than anything else.
