Pre-Order the NVIDIA SHIELD TV At Amazon & Other Retailers

At CES 2017 earlier this month, NVIDIA took the wraps off of an all-new SHIELD TV set-top box. And the new Android TV-based set-top box is now up for pre-order at a number of retailers. The new set-top box builds on what NVIDIA has had success with, which is creating a great set-top box for consuming content, but also for playing loads of great games. The biggest new features of this new NVIDIA SHIELD TV is the fact that it can play content in 4K HDR, as well as having Google Assistant built in. It does all this while keeping the same price as the original SHIELD TV, coming in at just $199. That makes it the most expensive Android TV set-top box right now, but also the best available right now.

NVIDIA has the SHIELD TV up for pre-order at Amazon, Newegg and of course their own website right now. It’s due to start shipping later this week, as the device is due to release on Monday, January 16th. This year, the company is releasing the controller and the remote included, instead of having the remote be a separate purchase (with the controller being included). The company noted that they found that a lot of their customers were still needing to buy the remote, so they opted to include it in the package. Which inevitably makes the new SHIELD TV even cheaper than the previous model.

For $199, you can pick up the NVIDIA SHIELD TV, which brings you 16GB of storage. Don’t worry there is room to expand the storage if you do need some extra space for games and such. Now if you don’t want to expand the storage, there is the NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro which comes with 500GB of storage, for $299. Which is actually a pretty good price for the large storage upgrade you’re getting here.
