RCA has just introduced three new Android tablets to its lineup with the least expensive model going for a measly $50. This is the company’s Voyager III, and it’s aimed squarely at the extreme entry-level market and will be in league with devices such as Amazon’s most affordable Fire tablets. It comes with a 7-inch display set with a resolution of 1280 x 720 as well as an Intel Atom processor and 16GB of internal storage space. There is a front-facing camera as well as a rear-facing camera on board, but there is currently no information regarding the quality of each camera nor is there any information about the rest of the specs, such as what version of Android the Voyager III will come with out of the box, although by the looks of the image it’s likely running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
While the Voyager III is firmly set in the budget tablet category, RCA’s next step up is a 2-in-1 tablet with a 12.2-inch HD display. RCA doesn’t appear to have mentioned a specific name for this particular tablet, although they do share a couple of details about this model. It has 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and although it isn’t mentioned it could have expandable storage via a microSD card, which would make sense as this looks to be aimed at consumers looking for a productivity device. It’s also powered by a quad-core CPU and it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera as well as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Users will be able to expect up to 8 hours of battery life on this tablet, although that will certainly vary depending on how they use it, and it comes complete with dual-purpose folio case that acts as a keyboard dock, allowing the user to quickly interchange the tablet’s orientation from tablet to notebook. The 2-in-1 tablet will cost consumers about $250 when it launches.
RCA’s last new Android tablet will be the Horizon 17 model, and as the name suggests it comes with the largest screen of all three devices, set at 17-inches although there is no mention of the screen resolution. The Horizon 17 will also come with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space just like the 2-in-1 model, and it comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. It also looks to come with a wireless keyboard, and it’s said to cost around $400 at retail once it launches. Right now there is no information on an exact launch date nor is there detail on availability.
