HTC is going to release a new smartphone which is currently be dubbed as the ‘HTC One X10’. This is the latest information coming out of a report from VentureBeat and based on information coming from a “person who has used one’. According to the details, the One X10 will be a follow-up device to last year’s One X9 and is due to be released in the first quarter of this year. Although, firm details on when exactly, for how much, or even in which regions it will be released, have yet to be provided.
What is clear from the new information though, is that save for a few minor changes, it does seem that the One X10 is not going to be all that different to the One X9. According to the details coming though, the only notable differences between this year’s model and last year’s is in the camera and processor departments. In fact, when it comes to the processor, it seems this year’s model will actually make use of a less powerful version of the same MediaTek processor.
As a result and based on the current information, it is understood that the One X10 will likely come with a 5.5-inch display which makes use of a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The smartphone will come equipped with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and will be powered by the MediaTek MT6755 octa-core processor (clocking at 1.9 GHz). As noted, the camera department is likely to be where the biggest change will be noted as the One X10 is penned to come boasting a 16.3-megapixel rear camera, along with a 7.9-megapixel front-facing camera. Whether that means that smartphone will be pushed as a more camera-focused device or not, remains to be seen. Although, with the lack of notable upgrades in other departments, unless the One X10 is priced significantly less than last year’s model, it is difficult to see what other angle HTC will use to promote this smartphone. It is also worth pointing out that this is not the first time that information on this phone has come to light. As a rumored ‘HTC X10’ has recently been spotted being certified in Russia, gaining Bluetooth certification and has even been leaked in image form. Speaking of which, the image above is said to be the new incoming HTC One X10.
