The Huawei P10 could launch sooner than we expect it to, well, at least according to the latest rumor that surfaced in China. According to an industry analyst, Pan Jiutang, Huawei is planning to unveil the Huawei P10 in early March at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona. Now, we initially thought that the phone will land in April, mainly because the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus did last year, and a number of previous rumors suggested that Huawei plans to announce Huawei P9’s successor in April as well, but that might not be the case it seems.
According to Pan Jiutang, both the Huawei P10 and the Galaxy S8 will launch during MWC 2017 which is about to kick off on February 27th, and last until March 2nd. The source also says that the Galaxy S8 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835, that was to be expected though, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are fueled by Qualcomm’s processor, well, one variant of the two device is. The Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus handset were quite a success for Huawei in 2016 as the company managed to sell 140 million devices worldwide, and the two P9 handsets played an important role in the big picture, even though they’re not amongst the best selling devices from this company, not even close, but that was to be expected as Huawei’s more affordable units are in far higher demand.
The Huawei P10 is probably going to be fueled by the Kirin 960 SoC, though some rumors even suggested that Huawei will have the Kirin 970 ready by the time the Huawei P10 land, that’s not that likely, though. In any case, the Kirin 960 is Huawei’s current flagship SoC which fuels the Huawei Mate 9, Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 9 devices. The Huawei P10 is also rumored to sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, and packs in 4GB / 6GB of RAM on the inside. Leica’s lenses will, once again, make an appearance on Huawei’s P series handset, and the device will quite probably ship with two rear-facing cameras yet again, though nothing has been confirmed just yet. Android 7.0 or 7.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the Huawei P10, and on top of it, we’ll get Huawei’s Emotion UI 5.0 skin.
