The Samsung Galaxy S8 is reportedly going to be announced in the US and in Europe on March 29. This will then be followed by its availability going live in week 17, which suggests late April. In addition, when the Galaxy S8 does launch, it will launch with a “record breaking marketing campaign” including multiple launch events in the US and Europe. Adding to the information coming through, the Galaxy S8 will likely hit the market priced at $849. The details come from known tipster @Ricciolo1 who had in fact, first suggested the March 29 date almost one week ago. However, the difference between now and then is that this morning, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S8 will not be in attendance at this year’s MWC event in Barcelona. Which does mean that the March 29 rumored date does now have an added layer of support. Although it is still only a rumor at this point.
One of the key differences between the rumor today and last week is that @Ricciolo1 has stated that the Galaxy S8 will come with a far superior marketing campaign compared to what has been seen before. It is unclear if the ‘record breaking’ aspect is thought to only apply to Samsung or to the market in general, although either way and if correct, then it seems Samsung will be looking to significantly up the marketing push for the Galaxy S8 once announced. A move which is likely to be designed to drive sales further than even before and likely to compensate for the lost sales that Samsung incurred in 2016 due to the market removal of the Galaxy Note 7.
It is worth pointing out that while the March 29 date is being touted by this tipster, there has been some varying rumors coming through on this. All the rumors do seem to continually point towards a ‘late March to late April’ time-frame and this goes for both the unveiling of the Galaxy S8 and its availability. For instance, while this current rumor focuses on week 17 as the launch date (very late April), an alternative rumor which came through in January suggested the Galaxy S8 will become available on April 18.
